What if i forget UCS password?
How can i reset it?
You cannot retrieve the original password for that account. You can reset the password for all other local accounts through Cisco UCS Manager. However, you must log in to Cisco UCS Manager with an account that includes aaa or admin privileges.

Can anybody tell me what is UCS Express?
The Cisco Unified Computing System Express (UCS Express) is a converged networking, computing, and virtualization platform for hosting essential infrastructure services and mission-critical business applications in the lean branch office.
What happen if the fabric extender is connected to fabric interconnect using 4 links and one of the links fail?
The server interfaces that are affected will either lose connectivity or fail over to another fabric extender, depending if interface is created as a HA interface. UCS M71KR-E/ UCS M71KR-Q Converged network adapter has the capability to fail over Ethernet interfaces if so configured. UCS 82598KR-CI 10 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter does not have this capability. Fibre Channel interfaces that are pinned to failing fabric extender link will just fail and their HA capability depends purely on host side multipathing driver.

OSPFv2 and OSPFv3 are very similar. OSPFv3 still establishes neighbor adjacencies, has areas, different network types, the same metrics, runs SPF, etc. There are however some differences. OSPFv2 runs on top of IPv4 and since OSPFv3 runs on IPv6, some changes had to be made.
Here are some of the differences:
1. Link-local addresses: OSPFv3 packets are sourced from link-local IPv6 addresses.
2. Links, not networks: OSPFv3 uses the terminology links where we use networks in OSPFv2.
3. New LSA types: there are two new LSA types, and LSA type 1 and 2 have changed.
4. Interface commands: OSPFv3 uses interface commands to enable it on the interface, we don’t use the network command anymore as OSPFv2 does.
5. OSPFv3 router ID: OSPFv3 is unable to set its own router ID like OSPFv2 does. Instead, you have to manually configure the router ID. It is configured as a 32-bit value, same as in OSPFv2.
6. Multiple prefixes per interface: if you have multiple IPv6 prefixes on an interface then OSPFv3 will advertise all of them.
7. Flooding scope: OSPFv3 has a flooding scope for different LSAs.
8. Multiple instances per link: You can run multiple OSPFv3 instances on a single link.
9. Authentication: OSPFv3 doesn’t use plain text or MD5 authentication as OSPFv2 does. Instead, it uses IPv6’s IPSec authentication.
10. Prefixes in LSAs: OSPFv2 shows networks in LSAs as network + subnet mask, OSPFv3 shows prefixes as prefix + prefix length.
OSPFv2 stands for Open Shortest Path First version 2 and OSPFv3 stands for Open Shortest Path First version 3. OSPFv2 is the IPv4’s OSPF version, whereas OSPFv3 is the IPv6’s OSPF version. In OSPFv2, many OSPF instances per interface are not supported, whereas in OSPFv3, many OSPF instances per interface are supported.
What is a Smart License and why is it relevant?
Smart Licensing is a cloud-based, software license management solution that enables you to automate time-consuming, manual licensing tasks. The solution allows you to easily track the status of your license and software usage trends.
How is Smart Licensing different from traditiona PAK-based licensing?
Traditional license has limited view. You do not know what you own.
You need to access multiple portals and tools to view information about your software assets.
Whereas Smart license has complete view of your software assets. License and device usage is easily managed from a single interface.
You must manually register each device in PAK license. A device can only be unlocked with a license key.
Whereas smart license has Easy registration.
No PAKs are required for unlocking a device. You can easily activate devices.

Device-specific licensing: Licenses are specific to only one device (also referred to as node locking).

Company-specific licensing
• Our flexible licensing feature enables use of licenses across devices.
• Licenses can be pooled and applied to applicable devices in any grouping as designated by your company.

How is licensing information reported back to Cisco?
Cisco Smart Software Licensing offers several flexible deployment options for reporting software license usage data, depending on the security posture required for your environment. Choose to use one or more of the following methods to transfer data from different systems:
● Direct cloud access (default) – Cisco products send usage information directly over the Internet or through a HTTP proxy server. No additional components are needed.
● Access through an on-premises license server – Cisco products send usage information to a locally installed satellite server. Periodically, information is exchanged automatically in connected environments or manually in disconnected environments.
● Full, offline access—license reservation – This method uses copy-and-paste information between the product and cisco.com to manually check in and out licenses. The functionality is equivalent to node locking, but with Smart License tracking.
